Barcelona-El Prat airport is connected since February 2016 with a brand new Metro connection – Line 9 Sud.

 

The new metro line is fully automated and without drivers. The trains run every 7 minutes on weekdays. The operating hours are as follows:  Weekdays (Monday to Thursday) until midnight. Fridays and eves of public holidays: until 2.00 am. Saturdays the metro runs all night long.

In order to reach Barcelona city centre, the passenger must make a change of line and take the line L1, L5 or L3. The metro ride with the change of trains takes more than 40 minutes.

The metro fares to the airport contain also an extra charge. Fares for one-way (zone 1) to reach Barcelona airport from any station of Barcelona network metro is €4.50.
